Pep and Porta-Potties

You know you've been away from your blog when you can't even get your password right, and have reset it.
Yep, that's me. She who writes in her blog very irregularly. I don't know how some of you can keep up with one and post on it frequently! I guess writing must not be in my blood, though sometimes it does trickle out now & then. I DO enjoy writing when I get the notion, and totally enjoy reading other people's blogs. It's like getting to look through a window in their lives. I guess my window must be a bit to blurry or dusty to see through right now. I have good intentions for my humble little cyber note pad, but more often than not..... I simply have little to write about, too little time to do it, or am too tired! I just can't win!!!

Another thing, I find myself more than slightly intimidated by other's fun blogs..... their creative writing style, and colorful lives. There...I've said it!! My life seems to be of late.....as colorless and dull ( and dusty...if you consider all the cleaning I do ) as a pile of chalk. Oh, and tiring and busy with work, and lots of it. I have a longing for more of a spark and adventure in my life. Whether it be a new job, interesting travels, or ( hint, hint....future husband) a guy that will bring new meaning into my little mundane world, or perhaps light up my life a bit. Not, that I sit around all dejected and morose, because really...... I do lead a rather happy, enjoyable life. I find much that interests and amuses me. It's the simple things of life that bring the most joy!! But I would by lying if I didn't say I could use some pep in my life. I need to think of a new hairstyle for one thing.

And maybe I should start by jazzing up my blog.........

Today, I was out doing some more flower/plant shopping, and I had a tiny little crisis. I was at the local feed and garden store, and the wind kicked up something fierce. I have this trouble with getting things in my eyes, in fact.....if there's a hair or a microscopic piece of fuzz anywhere in the near vicinity, it will find its way into one of my eyes. It has an uncanny way of lodging right under one of my contact lenses, and stubbornly STAYING there, until I'm forced to do something about it. Many a time, I have stumbled blindly to the bathroom to rinse out my contact. Well, this time....there was no bathroom to go to, and I got something MAJOR in my left eye while I was blissfully looking at the squash plants. I should have worn my sunglasses, but I had left them in the car. Oh, it was awful!!!! Not only was it painful, but it made my eyes water in the worst way.

I stumbled blindly to my car, and sat there hoping it would somehow work its way out of my eye. With all the watering of eyes that was going on, there was enough tears to start a small flood. So there I sat. Blowing my nose, fractically rubbing my eyes, and pleading with God to help. But, He chose not to. So I desperately went in search of one of the workers, to see if I could use their bathroom. The lady I talked to, said they didn't have one, but I could use the Porta-Potty. It had running water, she informed me helpfully. (They are having a new store built, so in the meantime......all employees ( and now customers) use the bright, blue Honey Bucket on the hill.

If I haven't mentioned before how I detest, abhor and despise those Porta-Potties.....now is a good time.

But, being so desperate to get the small tree out of my eye........I slipped in and began the familiar rinsing process. It's a good thing I could hardly see the condition of the place through my tears ( I'm sure it was crawling with a billion germs) and that I didn't think until later....that the "sink" didn't have a stopper. I could have lost my contact! I prayed a quick, meaningful prayer that God would protect my eyes from all germs, and pumped out the small amount of soap that was left in the dispenser. The water ran only if you pumped a pedal with your foot. Oh, I pumped alright. So vigorously that I felt the plastic shack of germs wobble and shake with the effort.

Well, all must be ok because my eye isn't red, itchy or anything tonight. But I did feel something crawling in my hair awhile ago.........
